Foundation Programs at Kadampa Centers around the world

On September 17 our most precious Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche showed the manner of passing peacefully into the clear light. Venerable Geshe-la requested that for auspiciousness at this time all Kadampa centers around the world engage in a short retreat using his special prayer, Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche from his Faithful Disciples.
Over Labor Day Weekend, Gen-la Jampa led the second annual Cool Pines Retreat at IKRC Grand Canyon.Meditators from LA, San Francisco, Albuquerque, Iowa, Las Vegas, and Northern Arizona all joined in the retreat on the Clarity of the Mind.

After years of hard work, assisted by the members of the center, KMC Durban has completed its brand new meditation room and World Peace Cafe. While waiting for the statues for the shrine (see below) Gen Kelsang Jampel, the Resident Teacher, recently opened the new meditation room and began teaching classes there.
Last Sunday, the Temple at Manjushri KMC was packed with people from all over the region. Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU and Resident Teacher, gave a Public Talk explaining Kadam Dharma in a very powerful and accessible way.
The United Kingdom Dharma Celebration is an annual event where people from the whole UK have a chance to come together and celebrate the teachings of Modern Buddhism in a peaceful yet vibrant environment.

At this time of year in many Kadampa centers around the world, the regular classes restart after the summer break, including the Foundation Program classes.
KMC Spain just held an open house weekend. 600 people from the surrounding towns, including Malaga, Granada and Seville, came to see this beautiful Temple and enjoy guided meditations from the Resident Teacher Gen Chokga, guided tours of the whole site and special activities for children and families.
Friday, October 14, will be Work a Day for World Peace Day, during which people all over the world will dedicate a day’s wages or whatever is a comfortable amount to help with the work of the International Temples Project.
