A beautiful week in Monterrey
Nov 23, 2024
From the time Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche oversaw the design and production of the first Kadampa Buddha statue, which is the centerpiece of the shrine in the first Kadampa Temple for World Peace, producing qualified statues and other adornments for Temples and meditation halls around the world has been a major project for NKT.
This work is carried out principally at the Kadampa Art Studio founded by Venerable Geshe-la at Manjushri KMC.
The Kadampa Art Studio (KAS) located at Manjushri KMC, is a unique facility dedicated to producing qualified statues, adornments and other art for modern Buddhist Temples and meditation centers around the world.
The Studio has a team of qualified artists and artisans and welcomes volunteer visitors to assist and train in new skills.
What is the Kadampa Art Studio ?
The Kadampa Art Studio (KAS) was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche to design and create qualified Buddhist statues and other objects for modern Buddhist Temples and centers around the world.
It is a charitable project that operates year round to meet the ever growing demand from new traditional-style and urban Temples opening around the world.
Thinking of volunteering ?
The Studio has a full-time staff of artists and artisans, but also relies on help from volunteer visitors. Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to help with the development of meaningful objects dedicated to world peace, learn new skills, meet wonderful people from many different backgrounds, live in a modern, caring community and if you wish learn about Buddhism by taking part in courses and meditations.
