German National Festival in November 2024

This weekend, many Kadampa centers around the world took advantage of the Easter holidays to offer special events. And with Saturday being NKT Day it was also an occasion for special pujas and celebrations. In this first post on the events of the weekend we feature the mother center, Manjushri KMC in the UK and IKRC Grand Canyon in the US.
This weekend people all over Spain and beyond enjoyed the 21st National Spanish Festival with Gen-la Dekyong – the last National Festival before the opening of the Kadampa Temple for World Peace in Málaga next year.
NKT was formally registered as a charity in July 1991. On Saturday April 3 the following year, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche inaugurated NKT Day, which was to be celebrated on the first Saturday in April every year.

The people of Colombia just enjoyed their first ever Kadampa Dharma Celebration. Gen Kelsang Sangden, their National Spiritual Director granted the empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa and gave teachings on the practice. It was a great success with 92 people attending from all over Colombia and beyond.
This weekend, to a full house at Tara IKRC and online, the Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Losang granted the blessing empowerment of Avalokiteshvara and gave teachings on the practice.
People across Quebec recently enjoyed the empowerment of Buddha Maitreya granted by Gen Kelsang Chögyan, the Resident Teacher at KMC Montreal

Over the span of 10 weeks, 540 Kadampa from all over the world engaged in KMC New York’s first-ever virtual Winter Retreat. Thousands of hours of meditation were accumulated by the day, under the guidance of Gen Samten, who led over 140 sessions.
People from all over Scotland tuned in last weekend to Buddha Prajnaparamita Empowerment with Gen Kelsang Drolkyi, Resident Teacher of KMC Glasgow.
The International Kadampa family has thousands of members, lay and ordained, and includes many families with children. Here is an example of how one center is helping children at home during the lockdown with online classes.Tharpaland KMC recently offered their first lockdown-compatible Online Dharma for Kids class, which was well received throughout the country.
