Celebrating Buddha’s Return From Heaven
Sep 22, 2024
Friday, October 16, will be Work a Day for World Peace Day, during which people all over the world will dedicate a day’s wages or whatever is a comfortable amount to help with the work of the International Temples Project.
Last weekend, the Southwest US Dharma Celebration was live-streamed from the IKRC Grand Canyon, with Kadampas from all over the Southwest of US tuning in! With our minds prepared, we received the beautiful blessing empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni from Gen Kelsang Rigpa.
On Tuesday Sep 8, Kadampas round the world join in special prayers to Buddha Tara to pray for the welfare of the world.
We recite the prayer Liberation from Sorrow in six sessions over the 24-hour period. The session times are 02:00, 06:00, 10:00, 14:00, 18:00 and 22:00, UK time. You can join in as many sessions as you wish.
This weekend the people of Portugal are enjoying the 2020 National Festival both online and, for a fortunate few, at the beautiful Temple at KMC Deuachen in Sintra.
With the first phase of re-opening of Manjushri KMC successfully completed – the Temple, cafe, shop and grounds once again open to the public and live classes and meditations once again taking place in the Temple – attention now turns to the next phase – an extended programme of in-person and online courses.
In January we featured the work Tharpaland KMC had started on converting the old ballroom in the Schloss into a dining room for guests. Yesterday, during center cherishing, they moved into the newly finished dining room. The previous dining area will now be converted into a modern cafe for visitors.
The International Kadampa Fall Festival 2020 will be presented online from Manjushri KMC, October 23-29. Everyone is welcome to take part in this Festival, from experienced practitioners to complete beginners. Booking opens Sept 17 at 13.00 UK time.
International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon recently enjoyed a Lamrim retreat with Gen-la Jampa called Joyful Land Retreat. It was based on The Mirror of Dharma by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
Three Dharma Celebrations are scheduled in the US in the next two weeks. And Tharpa US have launched a new online Dharma Celebration shop.
On a beautiful late summer’s day, the Temple at Manjushri KMC once again opened its doors for an in-person course, welcoming visitors from all directions.
