Day 7 ~ A Festival of Faith, Gratitude and Kindness

KMC New York recently held another powerful weekend retreat led by Evelyn Williams. Many new practitioners visited the World Peace Temple and enjoyed the retreat experience.
KMC Florida is marking 10 years since it was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche – ten years of spreading inner and outer peace in the Sunshine State.
Right now people in New York City are enjoying a week-long post Summer Festival retreat with Resident Teacher of KMC New York City, Kadam Morten. To the delight of many, during one session Kadam Morten proclaimed the memorable line, “It just so happens that reality is bliss.”
These days climatic and environmental hazards frequently present us with adverse conditions that might otherwise thwart our plans to benefit others. Here is the story of two Kadampa communities who were confronted with such conditions and who worked diligently to ensure the delivery of Dharma was maintained and protect the people who visit their centers.
Last weekend people throughout the US enjoyed the US National Festival with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, hosted by KMC New York. Read what they had to say.
“Everybody is welcome to participate in the next few days. And I would suggest we give ourselves a mission… to relax. Relax into this ocean of Buddha’s teachings, the Dharma. And enjoy, mixing our mind with these pure instructions. I would like to suggest that over the next couple of days, all of us listen carefully to these teachings and put them into practice purely and sincerely.”
Just in time for the 2021 US Festival in a few days time, the host center, KMC New York, just installed the collection of Buddha’s teachings, known as the ‘Kangyur’, in the Temple.
In the coming days there will be two major Festivals in North America – the US Festival with Gen-la Dekyong and the Canadian Festival with Gen-la Khyenrab
