KMC Australia

KMC Australia (KMCA) is the mother center of Kadampa Buddhism in Australia and hosts the National Festivals and Dharma Celebrations in Australia.

The center offers a complete range of meditation courses and retreats, from drop-in weekly evening classes, day workshops and weekend retreats to week and month-long retreats and in-depth study programs.

Opened in January 2005, the center has grown quickly and now is home to a community of lay and ordained practitioners. Many of these practitioners will become qualified Teachersand meditators and travel throughout Australia and the world to help others meet and practice Buddha’s teachings.

A Kadampa Temple was completed at the center in 2006 and opened at the Australian National Festival in December 2006.

Based at Camp Waterman in the exquisite Dandenong ranges at the edge of Melbourne’s urban sprawl, the center offers residential courses and retreats in a perfect retreat environment.

The center is staffed by volunteers who give their time to improve conditions for visitors.
