Creating opportunities to meet Dharma
Jun 22, 2026
Since then, this place has established itself as a space dedicated to meditation, study and inner development—a welcoming environment where people from all over the world have been able to engage with practical teachings to improve their daily lives.
Over these two decades, hundreds of courses, classes and retreats have been taught, in addition to national and international Festivals and other large events that have brought together thousands of people. Practitioners from various countries have passed through the center, finding a space to learn, share and deepen their inner development, as well as taking away effective tools to manage the mind, transform difficulties and cultivate peace.
The center was born from Geshe-la's wish for a mother center to exist in Spain that would host national Festivals. Over time, it has hosted not only national but also international Festivals, expanding its reach and relevance.
One of the most important milestones in its development was the construction of the Traditional Kadampa Temple for World Peace. This project involved nearly five years of continuous work, from obtaining licenses and drafting the design to the execution of the construction.
The result is a unique space, even recognized with the prestigious Macael Awards presented by the King of Spain, which today constitutes the spiritual heart of the center and a benchmark for the practice and teaching of Kadampa Buddhism.
The evolution of the site is also reflected in its physical transformation. What began as a two-star rural hotel with fifteen rooms has become a much larger residential complex, with three residential buildings and nearly fifty rooms, prepared to welcome a large number of visitors and participants to retreats and events. In recent years, growth has continued with the acquisition of new land, increasing the center's capacity to organize larger international events. It is also the home of Tharpa Editorial Spain and, recently, a Kadampa art studio.
Furthermore, in 2018 premises were acquired in the city of Malaga on one of its busiest streets, bringing the teachings to an urban environment and facilitating access for a wider audience.
The expansion has also been reflected in other cities. The branch in Granada grew to become a KMC that houses a very important project for the New Kadampa Tradition. Currently, there are active branches in various locations such as Córdoba, Marbella, Fuengirola and Estepona, bringing these teachings to more and more places.
Throughout these years, the center has also enjoyed visits from numerous guest Teachers from Spain and other parts of the world, as well as the participation of guest centers, enriching the experience and strengthening the community.
Twenty years later, this project continues to grow and adapt to the modern world, without losing the essence with which it began: offering a space of peace, learning and inner transformation that is within everyone's reach.
Through a variety of inspiring activities, KMC Spain, IKRC Grand Canyon, KMC Arizona and KMC Munich created opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with Buddha's teachings.
