KMC Rio’s bright beginning to 2025

Madhyamaka KMC, the first center founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, recently welcomed Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang as the Resident Teacher of Madhyamaka KMC and York KMC.
UK Dharma Celebration takes place next weekend. Kadam Bridget Heyes, National Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU for UK and Ireland will grant the empowerment of Buddha White Tara and give teachings from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche’s book, The Mirror of Dharma.
While waiting for the work on the new building for KMC Leeds to be completed, the Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Rabten, is visiting various centers in the UK. This weekend he was at KMC Birmingham, where he gave a day course entitled The Power to Change.
Last weekend Manjushri KMC took another step towards normal operations as it hosted a Summer Retreat that included residential accommodation. Entitled Permission to be Peaceful it was led by Gen Kelsang Sherab, Resident Teacher of Compassion KBC in the UK. It was a magical weekend and participants delighted in the beautiful weather and peaceful atmosphere. Since hosting a powerful gathering for the Summer Festival, Madhyamaka KMC in the UK has been busy hosting a number of other inspiring events.
Along with many other Kadampa centers, KMC London is preparing to open its doors again to the public after a break for the summer, and in many cases much longer. The community at the Temple in Morden have been busy preparing the Temple to welcome everyone back, including major renovation work on the entrances.
Over 200 people are enjoying the post Summer Festival Retreat at Tara International Kadampa Retreat Centre this week, with 50 in-person and the remainder taking part online. And after months of careful restoration – repainting and gold leafing – the Buddha Shakyamuni statue was installed in the shrine for the retreat!
Just days away from the 2021 Summer Festival, centers around the world are busy preparing to host people who will come together to join the Festival at their location. Are you ready? If you haven’t already done so book now.
On Sunday 27th June we joyfully celebrated the Summer Fayre in Madhyamaka KMC, in Pocklington (York) with the presence of thousands of people.
At the Welsh Dharma Celebration, Kadam Bridget Heyes, National Spiritual Director for the UK, granted the blessing empowerment of Buddha Maitreya, the Buddha of loving kindness, and gave special advice on the importance of developing loving kindness.
