In just a few days building will commence on the 7th Kadampa Temple at KMC France
June 4 is the Turning the Wheel of Dharma Day on which we celebrate Buddha’s first teaching in this world – the first Turning of the Wheel of Dharma. It is also the birthday of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, the Founder of NKT.
On May 5, 2026, KMC Spain celebrated the 20th anniversary of the day Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso inaugurated and blessed KMC Spain.
Over 400 Kadampas gathered at Kadampa Meditation Center New York for the US National Festival with Gen-la Khyenrab, receiving the Prajnaparamita empowerment, oral transmission of the Essence of Wisdom Sutra, and practical guidance on integrating wisdom and compassion into daily life.
Kadampa practitioners from across Brazil gathered at KMC Brazil for the 2026 Brazilian Dharma Celebration, receiving the empowerment of Dorje Shugden from National Spiritual Director Gen Kelsang Mudita. Everyone felt renewed inspiration to protect their minds and progress toward enlightenment.
The community of Manjushri KMC had a fun time together cleaning the Temple and priory and tidying up the grounds. Followed by a visit from Kadampas acroos the UK for Spring Festival preparations.
Today we honor Buddha Shakyamuni, who perfected his wisdom and compassion with the sole purpose of liberating all living beings from their suffering. Through his perfect attainment and profound teachings, he leads all living beings from the suffering of samsara to the lasting joy of enlightenment.
The first Saturday of April of each year is NKT Day, during which we celebrate the founding of the New Kadampa Tradition by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in 1991 — this year marking 35 years of Kadam Dharma flourishing throughout the world. Kadampa centers around the world organize special retreats, events and prayers.
On Heruka day 2026 we celebrate the appearance of the mandalas of Buddha Heruka in our world in the form of Kadampa Temples for World Peace.

Kadampa communities recently enjoyed inspiring family and community events, including children’s meditation activities, a joyful Dharma Kids program in Brazil, and a summer BBQ at Tharpaland KMC. Through meditation, friendship, and shared experiences, participants of all ages strengthened their connection to Dharma while cultivating kindness, inner peace, and harmonious community.
