New Buddha Statues arrived at KMC Philadelphia
KMC Philadelphia's new commercial space received qualified Buddha statues from the Kadampa Art Studio in the UK. With the new shrine, the space became even more beautiful and welcoming. Shortly after this, guest Teacher Gen Demo, Resident Teacher at KMC Washington DC, gave the empowerment of Buddha Maitreya, the first in-person empowerment in three years.
New Buddha Statues Arriving
In November, Kadampa Meditation Center Philadelphia received exquisite statues from the Kadampa Art Studio for our new commercial space. Our dedicated volunteers played an essential role in unboxing, inspecting, and carefully placing these statues on our shrine. Now our new space is ready to welcome the community in Philadelphia with a fully qualified Buddhist shrine, and to offer a tranquil place to cultivate inner peace for all our visitors. How wonderful!
First Empowerment in the New Commercial Space
KMC Philadelphia hosted a weekend course on 'The Power of Love' with Gen Kelsang Demo as our guest Teacher. On the evening of December 8th, Gen Demo gave a talk on cultivating the three types of love. The following day, she granted the empowerment of Buddha Maitreya. Notably, this marked the first in-person empowerment in Philadelphia in over three years - a wonderful way to inaugurate our new commercial space and welcome our new Buddhas. A truly special and uplifting experience!
