What is the Kadampa Art Studio?

From the time Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche oversaw the design and production of the first Kadampa Buddha statue, which is the centerpiece of the shrine in the first Kadampa Temple for World Peace, producing qualified statues and other adornments for Temples and meditation halls around the world has been a major project for the New Kadampa Tradition.

This work is carried out principally at the Kadampa Art Studio founded by Venerable Geshe-la at Manjushri KMC. See more

Creating Buddhas to travel worldwide

As Kadampa centers continue to develop around the world, the Kadampa Art Studio is continually working to fulfil the demand for statues and ornaments for urban Temples and traditional Temples.

They are also continually training new artists in all the processes and skills needed to produce Buddhist art.

Here we see some of their work on gilding, painting statues, casting, 3D design & printing, statue filling and preparing stupas for urban Temples.

Art studio tours

In addition to the wonderful work carried out at the Art Studio every day, tours are arranged once a week giving volunteers from all areas of Manjushri KMC the opportunity to discover more about this marvellous project.
