April 15 is Buddha’s Enlightenment Day, on which we celebrate Buddha’s extraordinary deed of showing the manner of attaining enlightenment in this world. Kadampas around the world share their thoughts on this auspicious day.

Following the advice of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, on April 8, Tara Day, Kadampas from all over the world joined together in 24-hour Tara Chanting online. 3,500 people from 31 countries joined in this powerful, global puja. Yesterday, NKT Day, 5,000 people gathered online to watch a special teaching by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of NKT, and to join in special prayers including Request to the Holy Spiritual Guide Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche from his Faithful Disciples:

In 1991 Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche founded the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT), which later became known as New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU).
