For several years now, the city of Talca has been visited occasionally by Kadampa Teachers, but since 2024, these visits have been regular. The Resident Teacher of Uma KBC (in Puerto Montt) Kelsang Sudhana has been regularly visiting Talca to give talks, courses and retreats. In addition, this branch has had visits and support from Gen Chokyong, NSD of Chile and RT of KMC Chile.

Currently in Chile there are five centers spread throughout the country, with long distances between one Kadampa Center and another. Talca is 4 hours from the capital Santiago and more than 6 hours away from all the other Kadampa Centers. There are several practitioners in this city who participate in FP at KMC Chile in Santiago and take GP online and in-person at Uma KBC and KMC Concepcion. It is due to this interest that we are developing the Talca branch and we believe that in the near future a new center will appear in Chile.
