Retreat
After three wonderful days of teachings on Lamrim there are now two days of retreat to contemplate the essential meditations we have received and to meditate on them from the heart.
The practice of Lamrim is very important because everyone needs to cultivate peaceful states of mind. By listening to or reading these teachings we can learn how to control our mind and always keep a good motivation in our heart.
Entering the Liberating Path
As Gen-la Sangden said, the Lamrim teachings contain extraordinary information that we need to keep in our heart and always live by. Kadam Morten leads everyone step by step in a series of guided meditations to do just this.
Kadam Morten encourages us to genuinely rely on a happy mind alone by maintaining a peaceful mind continually throughout the retreat. Seeking refuge in this peaceful, pure heart and not remaining in deluded states of mind.
He joyfully leads everyone to gradually build up the internal infrastructure of enlightenment and to feel that we are spending time with our Spiritual Guide at our heart.
From this blessed place we meditate in turn on the preciousness of our human life, entering into the liberating path, recognising the obstacle of self-cherishing and replacing it with cherishing love.
Finding Happiness Inside
In Between sessions
The retreat is joyful and encouraging and the Temple is full of people enjoying the opportunity and the power of meditating with so many others. Between sessions it is calm and quiet around the grounds, as people continue contemplating and try to maintain the insights and experiences they have gained. Staying connected and protected in the experience of a peaceful mind.
