Abide in The Pure Land of Lamrim
During our Lamrim retreat, both in and out of the meditation sessions, thousands of people are applying joyful effort to abide in this inner Lamrim Pure Land. Every appearance becomes an opportunity to train in Dharma.
Pure happiness arises from wisdom, and wisdom arises through practicing pure Dharma teachings. In this way, we gradually come to abide in the Pure Land of Lamrim.
Kadam Morten repeatedly encourages us to rejoice in the extraordinary imprints we are placing on our minds, and to be happy with our meditation practice so that we remain encouraged.
There is a deep concentration in the Temple during each session. People enter and leave quietly, and a gentle peace continues into the break times.
Kadam Morten helps us direct our minds towards the inner peace of enlightenment, free from every mistaken appearance. Holding up the book, Modern Buddhism with the bird on its cover, he reminds us that we need the two wings of universal compassion and wisdom to fly to enlightenment.

A Strong Wish to Attain Enlightenment
For the Benefit of All Living Beings
This is the focus of day two of our retreat. On the basis of exchanging self with others, we develop the strong wish to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings. We can accomplish this because the self that we normally see does not exist at all - emptiness makes enlightenment possible!

A Deep Appreciation for Your Potential
Now, with a deeper appreciation of our potential and a firm grounding in Lamrim, we are ready to enter the Vajrayana path and experience the union of Sutra and Tantra during week two of our International Festival.
Finally, as it is the 29th of the month—Protector Day in the Kadampa calendar—we conclude with powerful evening prayers to our Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden. The Temple is packed full of people as we make many thanksgiving offerings and prayers for Kadam Dharma to flourish throughout the world, free from every inner and outer obstacle.
