Meaningful Escapes: Weekend Retreats in
New york & Metz
Weekend retreats give us the opportunity to delve deeper into Dharma teachings, receive blessings and strengthen our practice. Below are retreats organized by Menlha KMC at the Kadampa Temple in New York and by KMC Metz, with a guest Teacher from KMC Toulouse.
wonderful Away Retreat weekend at the World Peace Temple in Glen Spey
Menlha KMC, Dharmachakra KBC, and KMC Philadelphia gathered together, along with some newcomers who googled “meditation retreat” and found their way to the Temple!
Resident Teachers Gen Chogyop and John Baker led a group of over 60 in inspiring teachings, meditations, and time for discussion. A highlight of the weekend included a wonderful Q&A session.
Many thanks to all who volunteered to make this happen, as well as the great team of volunteers and Sangha from all three centers, along with help from our Sangha in Glen Spey. It was an amazing weekend – let’s do it again - mark your calendars for the first weekend in June 2026!
Weekend Retreat with guest Teacher Gen Kelsang Sangyé
The weekend was on the theme of Overcoming exhaustion: rediscovering your joy of life with our guest, Gen Kelsang Sangye, Resident Teacher at KMC Toulouse.
We had the great pleasure of welcoming Gen Sangye, a modern Buddhist Teacher who conveys wisdom with simplicity, gentleness and great skill, guiding us through profound meditative experiences... More than 40 people took part in this wonderful weekend.
Each session was an opportunity to leave with a simple and efficient determination to overcome exhaustion or increase our energy. We were also able to spend time with the Sangha and Gen Sangye in Metz city center.
Thank you to everyone who participated in and organized the retreat, and to Gen Sangye for this wonderful weekend. Thank you, Venerable Geshe-la.
