Last weekend, more than 50 people from Chicagoland, Bloomington-Normal, Urbana, and Wauconda in Illinois, as well as Madison and Milwaukee in Wisconsin, had the amazing opportunity to join our Weekend Getaway Retreat. This yearโs topic was Infinite Peace, where we focused on deepening our understanding of the clarity of the mind.
Through insightful teachings, we explored how to seek, find, hold, and remain on our meditation object and experience the inner peace that naturally arises from within.
Gen Kelsang Zamling, our Resident Teacher, gave practical advice on how to improve our meditation practice through mindfulness and alertness. He highlighted one of the key benefits of taking the mind as the object of meditation: it makes it easy to attain tranquil abiding, a state of pure concentration.
We enjoyed our first meditation retreat of the year in a country house, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
During the retreat, we meditated and learned how love and patience help us to solve all our human problems. We also had time for walks, sharing experiences and stories around the warmth of the fire.
Undoubtedly an inspiring experience that filled our minds with peace and wisdom.
