At the end of June, KMC Colombia held an out-of-town retreat close to Bogota, in the scenic region of Choachí. Many people had the opportunity to dedicate a whole weekend to Meditate to Heal, contemplating profound teachings on compassion and the faults of self-cherishing and self-grasping, given by our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Atisha.
On the last weekend of June a festival for families and children was held at KMC Spain, celebrated for the second time since the Temple was inaugurated.
A lotus for the statue of Venerable Geshe-la was one of the many new items in the Tharpa Festival Shop at the Summer Festival 2024.
On June 23rd, Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago held a Walk for World Peace Fundraiser in one of Chicago's beautiful neighborhood parks. 50 people came out to support KMC Chicago's and Venerable Geshe-la's vision of world peace! It was a perfect day starting with a guided meditation by Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Zamling, a walk through the park, ending with a delicious picnic.
The collection of qualified Kadampa statues is growing each year. During this International Kadampa Summer Festival, many practitioners will be able to bring home new statues of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in metal, Prajnaparamita, and Amitayus. How wonderful!
Every year KMC Spain hosts a post-Summer Festival retreat. This year it was with Kadam Morten, the Eastern USA NSD, and was attended by 160 people. The profound teachings and meditations on the wisdom realizing emptiness as well as several hours of silence each day made for perfect conditions for everyone to go deeper inside.
The post-Summer Festival retreat with Gen-la Jampa at KMC Barcelona was very inspiring and profound. It was a week full of peace, enjoyment and wisdom with more than 150 people living together in harmony, including many of our international Sangha.
In the serene environment of the Kadampa Temple in Sintra, over 50 fortunate practitioners enjoyed a precious post-Summer Festival retreat focused on the practice of The Great Mother and the meditation on emptiness.
At Tara International Kadampa Retreat Centre a wonderful post-Summer Festival retreat was led by Gen Tonglam. Thank you so much to all those who attended and made it such a beautiful event.
At the end of August we hosted the 2024 post-Summer Festival retreat called The Uncommon Yoga of Inconceivability at KMC Mexico. We were honored to have international guest Teacher Gen Kelsang Rigpa, the National Spiritual Director of the Western US and Resident Teacher of KMC Los Angeles, guide the retreat.
A group of Kadampa practitioners from France, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Germany, Canada, the United States, England and Switzerland joined a post-Summer Festival retreat at Kailash International Retreat Centre last week, engaging in the profound practice of The Great Mother guided by Gen-la Khyenrab.
The Nagarjuna’s Middle Way silent retreat at KMC New York with Resident Teacher, Gen Samten Kelsang, brought over 150 people from all over the US and Canada. The silence was a useful tool to help participants take the profound teachings and powerful meditations more deeply into their hearts.
Our hearts were uplifted by the wonderful participation in the Guru Yoga Mandala Offering retreat at KMC Phoenix.
On July 13, Gen Samten taught Emptiness and Mindfulness: Learning to Live Lightly at KMC Brooklyn. Over 60 practitioners attended three sessions, filling the meditation room. Gen Samten offered practical guidance on integrating emptiness into daily life, blending profound philosophy with accessible techniques.
