In the context of our 30th anniversary, KMC Texas celebrated the kindness and generosity of our many volunteers. We sincerely thank each one of our volunteers, who make a very committed group of sincere practitioners, for joyfully making KMC Texas a source of refuge for our community.
We all got to enjoy an amazing evening, with delicious food and the wisdom of holy Dharma. We rejoice in our precious Sangha jewel and deeply thank our Founder, Ven Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, for the many blessings we have received both on this occasion and, mainly, throughout these memorable decades of work to spread the Kadam Dharma to all.
May everyone encounter our same good fortune!
On the last Protector Day, more than 50 fellow practitioners participated in this group practice after listening to a beautiful explanation about Melodious Drum Victorious in All Directions guided by KMC Hong Kong Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Tonglam.
On June 23rd, Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago held a Walk for World Peace Fundraiser in one of Chicago's beautiful neighborhood parks. 50 people came out to support KMC Chicago's and Venerable Geshe-la's vision of world peace! It was a perfect day starting with a guided meditation by Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Zamling, a walk through the park, ending with a delicious picnic.
It was truly inspiring to see the community come together and demonstrate such kind and generous acts of cherishing others.
We held our first Free Meditation in the Park and the weather was just perfect! ☀️
Gen Chogma, Resident Teacher at Atisha KMC in Darlington (UK), guided us in a beautiful meditation on love - developing the wish that everyone experience peace and happiness, in particular our families and friends and all the people and animals we could hear around us.
It was so blissful sitting together under the trees in silence with such loving hearts.
Last week's Summer BBQ was a great success. OK it did rain a bit, but the sun did appear to make the day a happy occasion for all those attending.
We had a peaceful retreat before things began, and everyone enjoyed some great food provided by the Heruka KMC Community.
In late June and early July we hosted our annual Robe Making Course at Madhyamaka KMC. This special course welcomes students from throughout the international Kadampa family to learn the precious skill of making qualified robes for the ordained Sangha within our tradition. This year we were joined by seamstresses from Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Spain and the UK. For six days the Centre was blessed by their joyful and industrious virtuous activity, which produced a record number of robes in such a short space of time.
Much gratitude to the instructors and students who participated and contributed to this wonderful endeavor. One student wrote of her experience “I learned more than I thought I would, both about making robes and about the nature of my mind!
Thank you to our amazing teachers and our beautiful translator 💖 and to all of the lovely friends I made on the course. It was a beautiful teaching and experience.”
