In mid-September, at two different corners of the Americas, KMC Colombia and KMC Fraser Valley, Canada, organized retreats that allowed participants to step away from their usual hectic lives. These retreats provided a unique opportunity to retreat in tranquil settings, allowing attendees to turn their focus inwards. It was a chance to refresh their perspectives and cultivate reliable inner resources for leading a healthier and happier life.
KMC Colombia organized the retreat in the serene outskirts of Choachí, near Bogota, within the Cundinamarca region. This peaceful and lush environment welcomed participants who had the good fortune of receiving meaningful teachings from Guen Kelsang Namdrol, the resident teacher at KMC Colombia.
Over the course of two days, attendees engaged in contemplation and meditation aimed at healing themselves from the burdens of guilt, pride, and other delusions. The retreat brought together a diverse group, including long-time students, those in foundation and general programs, as well as newcomers. It was a valuable opportunity for participants to share their experiences on how to integrate Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche's teachings into their daily lives.
KMC Fraser Vally enjoyed a delightful day retreat amidst the serene setting of Edenvale in Canada. The day was filled with four sessions of teachings and meditations, all guided by Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Delek. It was heartwarming to see both new and experienced meditators finding inspiration in these teachings. The peaceful forest surroundings provided perfect pathways for contemplative walks, allowing attendees to connect with nature and spend quality time with Sangha community.
