This weekend, the KMC Valencia inaugurated the new urban temple on Turia Street with a special ceremony directed by Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang, National Spiritual Director of Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and South Africa.
The main event, which brought together around 150 people, was a significant milestone for this Kadampa center that has organized activities in the city since the mid-1990s.
The journey of Kadam Dharma in France, from its humble beginnings in a small flat in Paris’ Latin Quarter in 1995, to its current widespread presence, is an inspiring story of faith and determination.
KMC Canada was involved in two events for public benefit this past weekend! During Doors Open Toronto 2023, an event organized by the City of Toronto, 450 people visited our temple. They enjoyed a 10 min guided meditation and the Liberating Prayer. They were also introduced to the different Buddhas and the sound of their mantras, to the history of the building, the significance of the Buddhist symbols, and shown the two cabinets of Buddha’s teachings and their commentaries, the Kangyur and the Tengyur.
Midwest Kadampas gathered at KMC Madison from 5 states: Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Iowa to receive the blessings of Dorje Shugden granted by Gen Kelsang Demo, Midwestern US National Spiritual Director!
Two years ago Mahabodi KMC, São Paulo acquired new premises for their city center. Since that time many volunteers have been working on renovating the building. It is in part funded by a project called “Mahabodhi Último – Together for construction”, which is a weekly bazaar held on the premises.
This weekend the center organised their first event in the new building to celebrate NKT Day. A new series of t-shirts with the theme “Dress for world peace” was unveiled bearing quotes from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and all proceeds from their sale will be donated to the renovation project.”
Having completed the centre during the pandemic, Kadampa Meditation Centre Aberdeen were delighted to finally welcome Kadampa’s from all over Scotland and beyond, to their official Grand Opening with Gen-la Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition.
Last night something very special happened in South Africa in the city of Durban…
“Gen-la Kunsang, after making the long journey and giving so much kind energy to helping us complete our beautiful new shrine, officially opened the new Urban Temple at Kadampa Meditation Centre Durban. Fortunate Kadampas from around the country joined in with the Durban Sangha for what was a very moving and powerful ceremony, particularly as everyone stood when the Buddhas were invited to enter and remain.”
