This month blessing empowerments were given in Florida, Malaysia and Germany. In our world where so much of the news is of conflict and suffering, it’s uplifting to remember that these events are happening all around the world throughout the year taking thousands of people closer to permanent peace and freedom from all suffering.
To celebrate their 15th anniversary, KMC Monterrey organized a weekend of special events with visiting National Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Sangden – a public talk, a retreat, and a video presentation, party and puja.
The biggest Kadampa public talk yet held in the US was given in Thousand Oaks by Gen-la Jampa. In Montreal, Canada a talk by visiting Teacher Gen Chodor was an inspiration to many new people.
This month blessing empowerments were given in Europe – in Portugal, Sweden and Barcelona. Empowerments are always a special time at centers, a chance for students to deepen their connection with a particular Deity and gain familiarity with spiritual practices related to that Deity. And of course they are a very joyful and blessed experience!
This month saw inspiring events in Colombia and Mexico. KMC Colombia welcomed the new Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Atisha, with a very special course, attended by over 100 people and KBC Drolma in Chiapas, Mexico celebrated their 30th anniversary with National Spiritual Director Gen Kelsang Sangden.
Fortunate Kadampas from Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, and Italy gathered in Ljubljana, Slovenia one weekend in February 2024 to receive the blessing empowerment of Buddha Vajrasattva. The empowerment was given by Božena Činkole, one of the Resident Teachers of KMC Slovenia.
In mid-February, more than 45 people from Cordoba, Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, and Uruguay participated in the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the Cordoba Kadampa Meditation Center in Argentina.
Special visits at KMC Bilbao, Nagarjuna KMC Leicester, KMC New York, and KMC Helsinki. Visiting teachers traveled to give courses in these centers, showing a new perspective on learning to let go and leading a life of profound purpose.
Joyful and blessed events took place recently in South America. An inauguration of the new Kadampa Center in Uruguay and a purification retreat in Argentina brought together the local community to celebrate and enjoy meditation.
As January ended, students of KMC Deuachen were rejoicing in the completion of their close retreat of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka. Meanwhile over 10,000km away, students of KMC Chile were very happy to be starting their close retreat!
