Long-awaited Opening in Barcelona, Spain
The long-anticipated opening weekend of the new meditation space in Barcelona was an exciting and well-attended event that brought together over 500 people from the local, national, and international Sangha. The atmosphere was filled with peace and spirituality.
On Saturday, the day commenced with the Wishfulfilling Jewel puja, uniting Kadampa practitioners in prayer and meditation to bless the space. In the afternoon, participants received the Green Tara Empowerment during a moving ceremony led by Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Lochani, with words of wisdom from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
"Sunday featured an Open Day, commemorating the International Temple Project for World Peace, an opportunity to share the pure vision of our beloved teacher, Venerable Geshe-la.
It was a beautiful weekend, radiating peace and harmony, the beginning of this new space, where classes, workshops, courses, and retreats will provide individuals with the peace and wisdom to face the challenges of modern life. The final stage of development will be finishing the main shrine in the spring of 2024, with temple size statues from Kadampa Art Studio in the UK. We are looking forward to completing this main feature of our Meditation Room.
