Spring Festival 2026 Day 5

This year’s Asian Festival was held on the beautiful Lantau Island in Hong Kong. More than 200 people from Asia gathered together for a meaningful holiday with teachings, family activities, cafe and shop. It was full of love and joy.
On 12-14 December Kadampas from across Wales and beyond gathered to receive Medicine Buddha empowerment from UK National Spiritual Director Kadam Bridget Heyes.
More than 150 students attended the East Asian Dharma Celebration 2025 with Gen Kelsang Tonglam at Kadampa Meditation Center Hong Kong.
A few days before the end of the year the Asian Sangha gathered for the Asian Festival 2024, and and KMC Wales hosted the Welsh Dharma Celebration 2024.
A special event organised by Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Penang, was hosted by a local Chinese Independent High School. Over 150 people attended, including the school principal, some of their teachers, and a large group of teenage students.
This past weekend over 100 fortunate Kadampas met up in-person in Singapore for the 2022 Asian Festival, with an additional 100 joining the event online.
Kadampa Meditation Centre Hong Kong enjoyed a fundraising walk with meditation guided by Gen Tonglam, the Resident Teacher.
With the Asian Festival fast approaching we take a look at the some of the centres in Asia.
Recently, Gen Kelsang Tonglam, Resident Teacher at KMC Hong Kong, explained and guided sublime meditations from Clear Light of Bliss during the Post Summer Festival retreat.
Last weekend, Gen Kelsang Tonglam, National Spiritual Director for East Asia, granted the blessing empowerment of Dorje Shugden at the East Asian Dharma Celebration. Kelsang Dachog guided the meditations and Kadam Dianna guided the retreat.
Kadampa Festivals always conclude with a short but powerful retreat on the teachings we have received. Gen-la Sangden guides us to clear objects of meditation, emphasising developing cherishing love and compassion.
