As demand for the teachings and practices of Kadam Dharma continues to grow, new centers are opening around the world while others are undergoing extension. Here we feature a center engaged in major expansion work – KMC New York.
KMC Colorado has moved to a new location in the Slo-Hi area of Denver. With so many people in the area seeking teachings and meditations, they outgrew their space in Cap Hill of nearly almost 20 years.
It has been just two years since we enjoyed the 2019 Fall Festival in Arizona and celebrated the opening of the fifth Kadampa Temple for World Peace at IKRC International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon.
Last weekend witnessed two wonderful Dharma Celebrations in the US on the theme of compassion, with Gen Kelsang Demo teaching at the Midwest Dharma Celebration in Wisconsin, and Kadam Morten Clausen teaching at the Southern Dharma Celebration in Georgia.
The Québec Dharma Celebration took place last weekend. Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab, retired General Spiritual Director of NKT and National Spiritual Director of Canada, granted the empowerment of Vajrasattva and taught on karma and purification.
This weekend was a special time for Kadampas in California, who enjoyed the California Dharma Celebration, which was held both in-person and online. For those who attended n person at KMC Los Angeles, it was a wonderful opportunity for California Kadampas to come together and catch up after a long break from in-person gatherings.
This last weekend the Southwest Dharma Celebration was held at the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon. Gen Kelsang Rigpa, Western US National Spiritual Director and the Resident Teacher at KMC Los Angeles, granted the blessing empowerment of Buddha Maitreya, the enlightened manifestation of pure love, and gave teachings on ‘Love and Life’s Purpose.’
KMC New York recently held another powerful weekend retreat led by Evelyn Williams. Many new practitioners visited the World Peace Temple and enjoyed the retreat experience.
KMC Florida is marking 10 years since it was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche – ten years of spreading inner and outer peace in the Sunshine State.
Right now people in New York City are enjoying a week-long post Summer Festival retreat with Resident Teacher of KMC New York City, Kadam Morten. To the delight of many, during one session Kadam Morten proclaimed the memorable line, “It just so happens that reality is bliss.”
