Double celebration in the US
Midwest & Southern USA Dharma Celebrations
Last weekend witnessed two inspiring Dharma Celebrations in the US on the theme of compassion, with Gen Kelsang Demo teaching at the Midwest Dharma Celebration in Wisconsin, and Kadam Morten Clausen teaching at the Southern Dharma Celebration in Georgia.
Midwest USA Dharma Celebration
The 2021 Midwest Dharma Celebration took place Sept. 24-26 at KMC Madison, Wisconsin. People gathered to receive an energising blessing empowerment, listen to inspiring teachings, and engage in powerful meditations together, focusing on the mind of compassion.
Gen Kelsang Demo, Midwestern US National Spiritual Director, granted the blessing empowerment of Avalokiteshvara and gave teachings on the practice of Taking and Giving. The Friday introduction was given by Gen Kelsang Gomlam and the meditations were led by Gen Kelsang Wangden.
Southern USA Dharma Celebration
Meanwhile Kadampas from North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia gathered in Atlanta at KMC Georgia to receive Avalokiteshvara empowerment and teachings on the five forces from Eastern National Spiritual Director and Resident Teacher of KMC New York City, Kadam Morten Clausen. The teachings were given both in-person and online.
The celebration included an introduction by Gen Norden, the Resident Teacher of KMC Georgia in Atlanta, and meditations guided by Gen Tilopa, Resident Teacher of KMC North Carolina in Charlotte.
