Ordination Day – Spring Festival 2026
May 20, 2026
Led by Gen Khandro, the Resident Teacher of KMC Munich, we enjoyed a three-day retreat on concentration in the beautiful Temple at Tharpaland KMC, surrounded by the peaceful and blessed forests of Brandenburg.
On Saturday, we joined the Tharpaland community for a joyful tsog puja and watched an inspiring video showing the extraordinary development of modern Kadampa Buddhism around the world, reminding us how precious Venerable Geshe-la’s legacy is for countless people.
Last weekend, we held a wonderful away-retreat called The Essence of the Path to Peace & Happiness(based on the Three Principal Aspects of the Path, a beautiful poem on the path to enlightenment by the great Buddhist master Je Tsongkhapa). Our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Thekchen, guided the retreat at the lovely forest venue Manoir de la Forêt in Cantley, Québec.
It was simply wonderful. Both long-time and newer students attended, and it seems that each of us, in our own way, was transformed by the profound and skilful teachings and guided meditations with Gen Thekchen. As one of the newer students said, “It gives me hope, joy and the wish to share with others!”
Following these precious teachings, we meditated on the essential instructions of the entire Buddhist path to enlightenment in just seven retreat sessions. Yet none of us felt that anything essential had been left out. We all experienced the path in a way that felt personal, meaningful, and digestible.
Thanks to the blessings of Buddha, Je Tsongkhapa, and Venerable Geshe-la, it was a wonderful and life-changing experience.
Last weekend, Kadampa Meditation Center Peru hosted a retreat called Disconnect from Stress, Connect with Yourself. It was a profoundly special three-day experience where participants had the opportunity to pause their daily routines, relax, and reconnect with their inner well-being.
Throughout the retreat, they shared moments of calm, meditation and reflection, enjoying practical teachings inspired by Buddhist wisdom. They acquired clear, accessible tools to transform stress and anxiety into serenity and balance, applicable to everyday life, allowing each person to return to their activities with greater clarity, enthusiasm and confidence.
One participant shared their experience, saying,
"It was a necessary break to get to know our minds and learn useful tools that will help us deal with the stressful situations of daily life".
On Saturday, Compassion Kadampa Buddhist Center hosted a wonderful day of transformative teachings at Nido Rautén, Quillota. Participants enjoyed guided meditations and deep reflections on how to cultivate greater states of happiness through meditation and Buddhist wisdom.
The day was led by Kelsang Drama & Jorge Muńoz, whose clear and inspiring guidance helped everyone gain practical tools for inner peace and joy.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Geshe-la for his inspiration and blessings.
Today many hundreds of monks and nuns gathered in the temple at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre for the Spring Festival Ordination Ceremony with Gen-la Jampa, with nine new Ordained Sangha appearing.
