IKRC Grand Canyon hosted a peaceful 30-minute meditation in Posse Park, Sedona, guided by Gen Kelsang Demo. Around thirty people joined the session, enjoying the beautiful surroundings at sunset. Afterwards, everyone shared cider and cookies in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that strengthened the Sangha and connected with the local community. Although the meditation ended in the dark, the experience was uplifting for all who attended.
Gen Kelsang Lamchung gave a public talk at the Penang Buddhist Association Senior Citizens Home on the belief that aging makes people useless. She explained that this idea is a delusion, because usefulness depends on keeping a good heart and making positive contributions, something possible at any age. The audience responded warmly, and it was touching to see how sincerely they wished to understand the causes of their suffering. They look forward to welcoming her again.
KMC San Francisco and KMC Tokyo jointly hosted the first global online Japanese meditation class, taught by Kadampa Teacher Tomoko Saeki in Japanese and streamed from the KMC SF residence. Nearly twenty people attended, both online and in person, and many expressed how precious and healing the session felt. The class focused on inner peace, using teachings from How to Transform Your Life. This new initiative supports the growing Japanese Sangha worldwide, alongside ongoing efforts to translate and update Venerable Geshe-la’s texts in Japanese.
An engaging mala workshop was held at KMC Girona with Cami from KMC Zaragoza, bringing together twenty-one participants at the urban center. The session began with a short meditation, followed by explanations on the meaning, use, and benefits of malas. Participants then created their own malas, enjoying a peaceful and meaningful activity. The center expressed deep gratitude for Cami’s visit and the warm, joyful atmosphere of the event.
