A number of good-hearted people gathered to listen to teachings about the mind and then go for a walk last weekend. With valuable insights from Gen Jampel, we learned how to engage with injustices in a way that becomes a force for good in the future. After the calm of the blissful guided meditation, having taken this wisdom deep into our hearts, we headed out. Our peaceful minds seemed to make the surrounding nature even more beautiful.
What a walk it was: meditating on cliffs, exploring waterfalls and making friends.
Then it was back for delicious vegetarian burgers. Thanks to Fry's Foods for supporting this event with the donation of their delicious veggie burgers.
Over 100 people gathered at Kadampa Meditation Center Madrid for an inspiring public talk with Gen Sherab, who shared clear and practical teachings on how to develop genuine happiness from within.
In an atmosphere filled with focus, joy and purpose, we learned that true happiness doesn’t depend on external conditions, but on cultivating a peaceful and wise mind.
Thank you all for making this event so special with your presence and energy. May this experience continue to flourish in your hearts!
Twelve fortunate people joined in the mala-making course on a sunny day in Sheffield. Kelsang Inchug led the day, starting with an introduction inspired by Gen-la Dekyong's teachings from the weekend course, Our Job is to Pray, and giving some teachings from Geshe-la's books on malas as a ritual object and how to use them.
Due to the kindness of several Sangha from other centers, donating and sending the materials and instructions on how to make malas, we all spent the morning and after lunch making our first mala.
Our wonderful working visitors, Ana and Ángel, helped by our Resident Teacher, Gen Lekchog, produced a nourishing buffet lunch. For our final session in the meditation room, we then engaged in mantra recitation.
The Fort Collins, Colorado Sangha gathered for a guided outdoor meditation in Spring Park, followed by a Walk for World Peace and community picnic.
We made prayers, enjoyed a peaceful meditation underneath some shady trees, and then mindfully walked with minds of love, wishing for all living beings, everywhere, to be free from suffering and to experience everlasting peace and happiness.
Now every Sunday at 10:30am we’ll be gathering in the same location (Spring Park) for an Outdoor Summer Meditation.
The London community gathered at Heruka Kadampa Meditation Centre for a day of peace, connection, and summer celebration. The Summer BBQ and Relaxing Retreat brought people together for a nourishing morning retreat led by experienced meditation Teacher, Douglas Robb, followed by a lively garden BBQ under the warm sun.
The retreat offered practical methods to relax and let go of stress. It was followed by the scent of sizzling veggie burgers and the cheerful sound of conversation as people shared their Dharma experiences over lunch.
Smoothies made fresh on-site added a refreshing touch to the afternoon, keeping everyone cool and smiling.
The day reflected the power of community and joyful effort, made possible by the many kind volunteers who prepared the garden and helped run the event. For many, it was a rare and beautiful opportunity to connect with others on the spiritual path in a relaxed and open-hearted way.
KMC Vancouver held its first annual Walk for World Peace Fundraiser in June. It was a contemplative walk featuring the beautiful misty mountains around Lynn Canyon Park reflected in the still waters of Rice Lake.
We raised funds for the International Temples Project, with the goal in mind of one day having a retreat center in British Columbia. 15 walkers and 33 sponsors generously contributed.
