Northern Spain Dharma Celebration 2025
Jul 1, 2025
Last weekend started strong with a special public talk with Gen Demo on Friday night on the topic Love: The Key to Happiness.
In her talk, she described how, in general, our love is mixed with attachment. Because of this, when we are disappointed by something or someone we love, we think 'love is painful!' However, if we learn to remove attachment through training in love, we will be free to experience happiness even in difficult situations.
On Saturday, we received wonderful teachings and guided meditations. One student said: “I found the teachings on the 3 types of love to be highly beneficial. The accompanying guided meditations made my mind so peaceful and filled my heart with joy. I will return for another retreat soon. A huge thank you to Gen Demo, and KMC Chicago!”
We enjoyed a public talk and Saturday course from our dear National Spiritual Director, Gen Kelsang Chokga.
We shared profound teachings, moments of inner connection, laughter and reflection. We took away inspiration, authentic connections and the desire to continue to cultivate wisdom and compassion on a daily basis.
Thank you, Venerable Geshe-la, for showing us the way to authentic happiness.
The Resident Teacher of KMC Colombia, Gen Kelsang Atisha, recently visited the city of Cali to share the precious teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, bringing inspiration, wisdom, and peace to all who attended.
This visit was a wonderful opportunity for the local Sangha and newcomers alike to receive profound and practical teachings directly from a qualified Kadampa Teacher.
Throughout the weekend, participants were able to enjoy a variety of activities. These included a special class that introduced the foundations of Kadampa Buddhism, a meditation course that offered practical tools for solving daily problems, and finally, the practice of Offering to the Spiritual Guide, which helped deepen the connection with our spiritual lineage.
This event also served as a beautiful occasion to connect with practitioners from other parts of the country, sharing experiences and strengthening the sense of community within the Kadampa family in Colombia.
We hope this is just the beginning of many more visits and activities that continue to bring wisdom, peace, and inner strength to all.
