The liberating compassion of Buddha Avalokiteshvara
Mar 21, 2025
This month at KMC Cuernavaca we had the great fortune to receive the special blessings of Buddha Avalokiteshvara, the manifestation of the compassion of all Buddhas.
We received instructions and practices from our precious Teacher, Gen Kelsang Nampur, so that the flame of the precious mind of compassion is kept alive all the time in our mind, our words, and our actions benefitting all beings around us.
We had the extraordinary opportunity to receive the powerful blessings of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion at KMC Guadalajara.
Our beloved Teacher, Gen Kelsang Shima, explained to us how these blessings are so special, activating the potentials of our pure body, speech and mind, our pure Buddha nature.
Gen Shima also explained to us that by receiving these blessings we acquire the special ability to control our hatred, attachment and ignorance, for with a compassionate mind these 3 mental poisons cannot arise.
We thank all those who attended the event, our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Shima, and all the volunteers who happily contributed to making this special event a reality.
In March, we enjoyed a very special and wonderful empowerment at KMC Stuttgart, namely the blessing empowerment of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of compassion.
Everyone enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at the center and, above all, the wonderful commentary given by our Resident Teacher, Jörg Meerholz, on how we can integrate compassion into our daily actions through the practice of Avalokiteshvara. How wonderful!
Many thanks to everyone who made this precious opportunity possible!
Kadampa Meditation Center Tampa Bay had the great privilege of hosting our Annual Empowerment. This year, we gathered for Bringing Everyone to the Pureland: Empowerment of Buddha Avalokiteshvara and Commentary to Powa, presided over by our Resident Teacher, Sarah Frew.
About 40 dedicated practitioners from KMC Tampa Bay and KMC Florida came together for this special day of blessings, deepening their connection with Buddha Avalokiteshvara, the embodiment of universal compassion. Through receiving empowerment and engaging in the commentary to powa practice, participants had the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how to cultivate compassion and wisdom in their daily lives.
In addition to the spiritual program, we enjoyed a wonderful vegetarian lunch, providing a precious opportunity for meaningful connection and joyful engagement with our Sangha community. The success of this event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of dozens of volunteers over many weeks, whose generosity and hard work ensured a harmonious and inspiring experience for all.
Kadampa Meditation Center Tampa Bay remains a place of refuge for those seeking inner peace and wisdom, and we are deeply grateful to have shared this transformative day of empowerment, blessings, and spiritual friendship with so many.
