Kadampa centers have hosted inspiring events worldwide, including a transformative retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a “Closing Cycles” event in Mexico and in Paris, Gen Dechen from KMC Lille led a joyful meditation day. These events all reflect the global Kadampa community’s dedication to spiritual growth and connection.

the First Southeast US Retreat
This first annual retreat united five Southeast US centers: KMC Georgia, KMC North Carolina, KMC South Carolina, and Je Tsongkhapa KBC and Kosala KBC both in North Carolina. Participants loved it so much that plans are already underway for next year’s retreat!
Under clear blue skies and chilly December temperatures, nearly 100 people from the Southern states of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida gathered for a blessed mountain retreat in Highlands, North Carolina. Guided by four Resident Teachers, the sessions focused on gaining a deeper experience of the Heart Sutra and meditating on the emptiness of the body.
In the morning breaks participants enjoyed silent reflection, surrounded by stunning vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The afternoon breaks provided opportunities to connect with Sangha friends, meet new ones and discuss Dharma.
Closing a chapter - course in Mexico
In the first week of December, people gathered at KMC Cuernavaca for a special event, Closing Chapters where we reflected on how patience and an understanding of impermanence can help us let go of what holds us back and move forward with clarity and peace.
Visiting teacher at KMC Paris
Gen Dechen, the Resident Teacher of KMC Lille in northern France, taught a one-day session at the Paris Center on how to meditate effectively and joyfully. Around 40 people participated in this inspiring event, both in person and online.
