December Empowerments in Summer and Winter
December saw empowerments in all corners of the globe, from South Africa and New Zealand where it is summertime to wintery Switzerland. Regardless of the season, students enjoyed the warmth of Buddha's blessings coming into their lives.
Vajrasattva Empowerment at KMC Durban, South Africa
Last weekend at KMC Durban we received the special blessings of Guru Vajrasattva. With the knowledge that everything that stands in our way and all our pains and problems come from our own negative karma we developed a strong wish to purify them all. Understanding that all Buddhas appear as Vajrasattva with the special function of purifying living beings we also developed a strong wish to rely on Guru Vajrasattva.
Thank you Venerable Geshe-la for making all of this a reality for us, and thank you Gen Jampel for granting us the empowerment and for the powerfully motivating commentaries.
Green Tara Empowerment at KMC Switzerland
On 9–10 December we had our annual empowerment weekend at Kadampa Meditation Center Switzerland in Zurich. Our Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Devi granted a Green Tara empowerment. Over 100 people from all around Switzerland came to enjoy this special occasion. See the joy for yourselves!
Maitreya Empowerment in New Zealand
Kalpa Bhadra Buddhist Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand held their annual empowerment on December 3. During this special event, Resident Teacher Kelsang Luma granted the blessing empowerment of Buddha Maitreya. It was a wonderful day, especially for those for whom it was their first empowerment.
