A STRONG MIND, A MIND OF PEACE

An invitation was sent out to all the people of the lake district and surrounding area to visit the home of Venerable Geshe-la and experience the peace emanating from the holy teachings of Buddha that he presented here for over 40 years.
Over 330 people attended this public talk with meditations guided by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong in the Kadampa Temple for World Peace.

During the talk Gen-la distilled the essence of Buddha's 84,000 teachings into three simple yet powerful lines of Dharma:
"Abandon non-virtue.
Practise virtue.
Control the mind."
Gen-la revealed how these teachings can be used to cultivate a strong and peaceful mind, providing a source of support for oneself and those around us in difficult times.

After the talk, guests had the opportunity to explore the centre’s enchanting grounds and take a stroll to Morecambe Bay. The natural beauty of the area was a perfect complement to the magical atmosphere of the event. Some guests chose to linger, either by staying for lunch or relaxing in the World Peace Café, soaking in the peaceful vibes that surrounded them.
