TEMPLE PROJECTS

The first Kadampa Temple for World Peace was opened by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche in 1997 at Manjushri KMC in the UK.

This modern Temple based on traditional designs was designed by Venerable Geshe-la, who oversaw every stage of its construction and adornment.

Since then five more Kadampa Temples for World Peace have been completed at:

KMC New York
KMC Brazil
KMC Portugal
IKRC Grand Canyon
KMC Spain

Many more are planned for the future including for France, Germany, Canada and Russia.

These Temples are designed to accommodate large numbers of people for Festivals and Dharma Celebrations and also to be the hub for residential communities both in and around the host center.

Celebrating International Temples Day – 2025

US Festival 2024 ~ The first time at the IKRC Grand Canyon

The US Festival this year took place for the first time ever at the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon in Arizona with Gen-la Kelsang Jampa.

The lights shine on the 2nd anniversary of the Malaga Temple

KMC Spain celebrated the second anniversary of the opening of Kadampa Temple for World Peace in Malaga on the 8th of June, continuing a tradition created last year. It was a great success with around 200 people from the local population attending, some of whom knew the Temple and some of whom came for the first time, receiving very meaningful impressions.
