Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche inaugurated the annual International Kadampa Festivals to provide the international community with an opportunity to gather three times a year. He explained that these gatherings are essential for the growth and development of the International Kadampa Buddhist Union.
The 2021 Fall Festival Online is being broadcast live from Manjushri KMC and then re-broadcast to various Festival hubs in different time zones around the world. And many of these hubs offer the chance to stay at the center and take part in a ‘mini festival’ in their Temple, listening, meditating and discussing with other like-minded people. After each International Festival, Kadampa centers around the world organise post-Festival retreats providing an opportunity to spend some time improving our understanding of the teachings and taking their meaning to heart.
At the 2021 Fall Festival, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, will grant the empowerment of Buddha Green Tara and give teachings on the sublime practice of The Path to Heaven, a special transference of consciousness (powa) practice of Arya Tara.

The 2021 Summer Festival was remarkable in so many ways. It is as if we have experienced a modern miracle. A global community of over 6,000 people came together virtually to enjoy the very essence of modern Kadam Dharma, including for the first time ever, the HIghest Yoga Tantra empowerments of Heruka and Vajrayogini transmitted online.
Yesterday, thousands of people around the world came together to meditate for world peace. We meditated on a peace that for most people is impossible even to imagine – the deep peace of Guru Heruka’s mind.
Yesterday, with two extraordinary teachings on Heruka body mandala, Gen-la Jampa’s teachings drew to a close. Teachings that, though extremely profound, were presented in such a practical way that everyone felt empowered and eager to engage in the practice.
