NSD visits including a Green Tara blessing empowerment and Carnival celebrations in Brazil, and stunning sunset meditation in Uruguay. It’s a magical and powerful time in South America.

The Blessings of Green Tara at KMC Mahabodhi

In March 2026, practitioners gathered at Kadampa Meditation Center Mahabodhi in São Paulo, Brazil, for the blessed Green Tara empowerment with Resident Teacher Gen Mudita, entitled Healing Fear and Anxiety with Wisdom.

During this special event, participants received the empowering blessings of Buddha Green Tara, the female Buddha of swift compassion and protection. Through these blessings, practitioners were inspired to develop wisdom and courage, learning how to transform fear and anxiety into a path of inner strength, compassion, and spiritual growth.

The empowerment created a joyful and uplifting atmosphere, allowing both newcomers and experienced practitioners to connect deeply with Tara’s compassionate energy. Through prayers, meditation, and teachings, participants gained practical methods to bring peace and clarity into their daily lives.

BLESSINGS, CARNIVAL, WATERFALLS AND LONG PROTECTOR puja AT THE NEW VENUE: A MAGICAL TIME FOR KMC Rio

February was a truly magical and powerful month at KMC Rio.

During this festive month throughout Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, as always, hosted one of the country's biggest carnivals, and the city was in celebration.

Here at our center, we maintained all that joy and engaged in the greatest of celebrations: the inner celebration!

The highlight at the end of the month was the long-awaited annual visit of our National Spiritual Director - Gen Kelsang Mudita.

Gen Mudita gave a public talk on how to awaken to a better world, where many new people left inspired and connected by the words of our precious Guru through this inspiring Teacher.

In addition, we had the rare and beautiful opportunity to receive the Bodhisattva Vows - a group of people gathered to make this world a better place for everyone. How wonderful!

Gen Mudita also presided at long protector puja, Kangso, at the construction site of our new center-to-be, to remove any obstacles that might arise in the emergence of this new oasis of refuge and peace in Rio de Janeiro.

Earlier in February, we had Dharma Kids for the little ones and an Amitayus retreat during the carnival days for those who wished to escape the chaos for a while.

It was an intimate, light, and extremely touching and powerful retreat.

During our day off, some center participants took a quick trip to the carnival parade happening in the streets, and fun was guaranteed.

In addition, we discovered a beautiful and calm waterfall, one of the many natural beauties of Rio de Janeiro.

How wonderful it is to be able to connect with life in this city so that people here know that everyone is welcome to this oasis of refuge and peace.

Furthermore, we had many remarkable and special activities, such as the conclusion of the study of the book The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra on the Teacher Training Program and a television interview given by our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Dechog, about the relationship between spirituality and health.
