A Chance to Go Deeper with Dharma

Short retreats offer a precious time to step back from daily life, immerse yourself in Dharma, and nourish your spiritual growth. They are a special opportunity to strengthen your meditation practice. Here are some of the retreats hosted by KMC Washington (US), KMC Victoria (Canada) & Burnley KBC (UK)

KMC Victoria Hosts 4-Day Retreat

From August 29-Sept 2, KMC Victoria hosted a beautiful weekend away for our Sangha.

We enjoyed wonderful teachings from Gen Kelsang Zopa and were treated to the forested, quiet surroundings of Westwood Lake. Almost 40 people joined us for this meaningful spiritual holiday called An Ocean of Joy in a Loving Mind. We immersed ourselves in the experience of cherishing love, as Gen Zopa guided us in the meditations on equalizing and exchanging self with others.

These profound and heart-opening meditations incorporated the teachings on emptiness into our practice of training in cherishing love, allowing us to truly open our hearts and to deeply value and cherish others.

EVERYDAY ENLIGHTENMENT: LAMRIM RETREAT at KMC WASHINGTON, SEATTLE

The week leading into Labor Day and over the long Labor Day weekend, Resident Teacher Kadam Trina, guided our 7-day Lamrim retreat titled – Everyday Enlightenment: Meditations of the Path to Enlightenment using the New Meditation Handbook.

We followed the suggested retreat schedule from the New Meditation Handbook and enjoyed beautiful, profoundly meaningful teachings on the twenty-one Lamrim meditations found in this book.

The retreat was well attended both in person and online. We had people attending the whole retreat who had never experienced any Lamrim teachings and many others who attended who have Lamrim meditation experience but who continued to deepen their understanding of Lamrim and the power of the 21 Lamrim meditation cycle.

We learned and experienced that by engaging in the 21 Lamrim meditations systematically, we can build a strong foundation of inner peace within our busy and often stressful lives.

Finding Peace in the Heart of the Countryside in Bolton Abbey

Last weekend Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre organized an away retreat at Beamsley near Bolton Abbey in the Yorkshire Dales, with homemade meals, countryside walks and skillfully guided meditations.

We had a relaxing and inspiring weekend, filled with practical solutions to finding a more relaxed mind to take back into daily life.
