Coming together to help our Centers
Coming together in different ways allows us to build strong connections and enhance the community spirit at Kadampa centers. Whether through meditation classes, social gatherings, or volunteer activities, each opportunity for collaboration helps deepen our relationships and enrich our shared experience.
Recently, two centers - KMC Montreal and KMC Chile - engaged in successful community activities that also contributed to the International Temples Project, which is dedicated to creating places of peace around the globe.
“Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. We all wish for world peace, but world peace will never be achieved unless we first establish peace within our own minds. We can send so-called 'peacekeeping forces' into areas of conflict, but peace cannot be imposed from the outside with guns. Only by creating peace within our own mind and helping others to do the same can we hope to achieve peace in this world.”

a walk dedicated to world peace
On this auspicious day, Sunday, September 22, KMC Montreal organized a walk dedicated to world peace. A wonderful group of 21 people gathered at Île-de-la-Visitation Park and walked together for about 9 km. We raised a significant amount for the International Temples Project, which aims to bring peace and happiness to everyone.
We pray that through our joyful effort, all beings may find everlasting peace and mental joy, and that world peace is quickly attained.
A Buddhist 'Fonda' in Chile
We celebrate national holidays in Chile with Fondas - events full of food and traditional activities. At KMC Chile, we hold a Buddhist Fonda every year, featuring meditations, talks, games, and food. This year in September, the Buddhist Fonda was extra special as it also marked the closing of our fundraising campaign and it was a great success with around 100 people attending!
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped with this campaign and to all those who helped organize the event and contributed in various ways. So many people came together to help the Dharma continue to flourish.
