A great morning of guided meditations with Gen Mila, the Resident Teacher of Vajrapani KBC in Johannesburg, sharing Dharma wisdom in Pretoria.
Gen Mila explained the importance of appropriate attention in enabling us to develop beneficial minds both in and out of meditation. This was followed by a delicious vegetarian lunch.
Thank you all for making this very auspicious short retreat possible.
We held a beautiful mala-making workshop last Saturday at KMC Manchester, learning the art of mala-making and the power of prayer, so we can use these beautiful ritual objects in our everyday lives
A big thank you to all attendees and to skillful Kelsang Sama and Kelsang Drolje for making the course a truly enjoyable and meaningful get-together.
The course was a complete sell out, and the next one in 2025 is in the pipeline!
On Saturday, September 7th about 40 new people found their way to KMC Frankfurt for our Open Day.
Our free meditations, public talk and a guided tour of the meditation room were very popular. We had delicious homemade cakes, great weather, a raffle and lots of fun.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made this beautiful day possible.
In September, Odiyana KMC hosted its annual Open Day when people from the local community could come and see what the centre was all about.
As well as offering 4 free taster meditation sessions throughout the day, we also offered children’s meditation and a pop-up cafe and vegetarian BBQ.
The community baked cakes and helped to set up beforehand, making the day a huge success. We even had some local dogs show up to sample the BBQ food.
It was a very special and auspicious day!
Our annual free Open Day is part of OpenDoors/Drysau Agored which runs throughout September celebrating Wales' rich built heritage. Despite the building being covered in scaffold the event once again proved popular with locals and visitors from further afield. People enjoyed short guided meditations with Kadam Paul and explored the newly refurbished Meditation Room. Ian, our Admin Director provided tours and talked about the history of the building throughout the day. Our wonderful volunteers baked fabulous cakes and ran the cafe and information desk.
Over the past year, the main public areas of the building have been re-decorated and facilities improved to enable us to provide a more attractive and welcoming space for our visitors.
It was a real pleasure to introduce new people to our beautiful meditation centre and to welcome back familiar faces. There was a lovely warm, relaxed atmosphere throughout the day and many visitors commented on the beauty and peace of the historic building. There was also a lot of interest in our classes and courses that take place across the region.
It was a very blessed day and we are already looking forward to next year's event when many external repairs and renovations should be complete.
