The path to Keajra Heaven

The Pure Land of Vajrayogini is not so far away! At Festival and in our daily practice we are training in special methods to purify our mind so that we have purer experiences.
Today Gen-Jampa began the commentary to the Uncommon Yoga of Inconceivability, based on Venerable Geshe-la’s commentary Keajra Heaven. He shares with us extraordinary teachings that enable us to create the pure world of Vajrayogini through our meditation practice. This is possible because everything is empty of existing from its own side and is a mere appearance to mind. We can use this understanding in profound ways to accomplish Keajra Heaven, or outer Dakini Land, within one life.

Appreciating all our experiences of Dharma with Gen-la Jampa

Day 11 ~ Inner and outer Pure lands

We can also apply this immediately in our daily life - we can practically learn to transform whatever appears to us into a virtuous object, remembering that it depends on us and the position we choose to take with respect to what is appearing. Gen-la encourages us that with familiarity every living being can become a virtuous object for us if we focus on them with love, patience, respect or compassion, and all phenomena can be an object for training in the wisdom of emptiness. As Venerable Geshe-la writes in How to Understand the Mind, "There is no greater Dharma practice than this."

We are deeply appreciating the truth that happiness comes from a peaceful mind, and that a peaceful mind arises only when we concentrate on virtuous objects in meditation and out of meditation. All day long we see at Festival people being happy in potentially difficult circumstances. It is inspiring and brings yet more insight into the meaning of Festivals - they truly are a training ground for the mind!

Whether an object is virtuous or non-virtuous depends on our position. This means that whether someone makes us happy or not depends on the position we take with respect to that person.

My Pure Festival

"When at the Festival I am always happy I made the effort to come. I learn so much in a short while and gain new insights. Especially moving has been Geshe-la's compassionate intention and request to make The Uncommon Yoga of Inconceivability available for all of us. Now we have to take advantage of it!"

Katrin

"I had a wonderful weekend on my first visit to Manjushri. It was really rewarding helping out with the food carrying, meeting and working alongside the Scottish Sangha. There were many great points in the teachings from Gen-la Jampa to contemplate over."

Scott

"Through receiving Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings on Highest Yoga Tantra and Gen-la Jampa’s thoughtful commentary, the full glory of Buddha’s vision of how life can be and the joyful path we can take to get there is being revealed and it leaves me feeling humbled, inspired and determined to leave behind the confusion of the past and embrace this vision, this path - to find this new life and share it with others."
