Fall Festival 2024 ~ Day 1
Oct 25, 2024
07 August 2024
The final day of teachings focused on many important things and completed the transmission of the sublime practice of the Uncommon Yoga of Inconceivability. Included within this beautiful, transcendent practice are so many practical teachings. We spent time reinforcing our cherishing love for all living beings, abandoning the ignorance thinking 'I am more important than others', and letting go of our resistance to a deep wisdom exchange of self with others. We learned how to use the Tantric teachings on wise imagination and imputation to practically see others as pure beings, respecting and loving them. In this way we can be a good example in our everyday lives, our Centers can be Bodhisattva communities and we can really join in with fulfilling Venerable Geshe-la's vision for pure Kadam Dharma to flourish in the world.
Gen-la Jampa shared so many empowering words from Geshe-la, helping us to feel so close to our kind Spiritual Father, to feel held in his love, to appreciate his extraordinary actions and qualities and to be empowered by his vision of what we are capable of.
We are enjoying an extraordinary summer holiday, the sun is out once again, but rain or shine the festival site is radiant with smiles. The special quality of having a spiritual holiday is its long term benefit. Having received Dharma teachings that show us how to progress on the spiritual path, which is a path of mental development, we gain confidence that when we leave we can unify the Dharma with our daily activities to make our life happier and more meaningful.
We look forward to the retreat to take the teachings even more deeply inside, to deepen our familiarity with the practices in meditation and to spend time with our pure intentions.
The best solution to our daily problems is to learn to cherish others. There is no valid reason for thinking we are more important than others, in this podcast Gen-la looks at why we have resistance to letting go of this view.
It’s highly inspiring seeing a great effort from so many to too better themselves for the benefit of others."
"I find the precious teachings from this week are giving me a renewed energy and boost that my practice of Vajrayogini needed. We are all so unbelievably fortunate to receive all these powerful teachings. Thank you to everyone who who makes this possible"
"Even online the teachings and meditations are very powerful and encouraging. I miss the Sangha element but am very happy for all those who are at Manjushri."
