Many Kadampa centres offered short retreats over the Christmas period, giving people space to cultivate peaceful minds of love and compassion while enjoying the companionship of their spiritual friends.
The 2023 Asian Festival has concluded with our hearts full of love and joy. In the picturesque setting of Mui Wo on Lantau Island in Hong Kong, 170 practitioners from all across Asia gathered joyfully to receive the blessing empowerment of Buddha Maitreya and the teachings on the Buddhist way of loving kindness.

The Christmas course at Manjushri KMC, led by Gen Kelsang Tilopa from December 23 to 27, 2023, was a memorable experience. Participants gathered to explore the theme “Finding Meaning and Purpose in Your Life,” delving into teachings about happiness and inner peace.
In every Kadampa Centre around the world, retreats are an integral part of the spiritual program, providing an opportunity to familiarize ourselves with a particular practice, meditation, or drawing closer to a Deity. Concluding the year, Centres in Argentina, Mexico, and Portugal engaged in retreats, creating peace in their hearts and in this way contributing to peace in this world.
With this timeless message, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche shows simply and practically how to make our life happier and our world a better place.
During a week-long course at Nagarjuna KMC, Thornby Hall in UK, participants had the opportunity to learn from the internationally renowned NKT Buddhist artist, Kadam Chris Heyes. The week was filled with peaceful and creative energy. Participants had the option to stay in beautiful en-suite accommodation offered by the center and enjoy woodland walks, as well as social time in the World Peace Cafe between sessions.
Recently Kadam Bridget gave an inspiring public talk to almost 60 people in the beautiful Cornish town of Truro on ‘How to Develop a Peaceful Mind’. This was the culmination of the ‘Cornwall Dharma Tour 2023’, where newly appointed Resident Teacher, Kelsang Yonchen, has taught a series of half day courses around the county in various towns
The practice of Purification is one of the four great preliminary guides. The practice of Meditation and Recitation of Buddha Vajrasattva is a powerful method for purifying our mind and actions. Recently KMC Montpellier in France, KMC Valencia in Spain and Vajrapani KBC in South Africa engaged in this wonderful purification practice, organising retreats at their centres.
