Buddhist art course in Midlands, UK

During a week-long course at Nagarjuna KMC, Thornby Hall in UK, participants had the opportunity to learn from NKT Buddhist artist, Kadam Chris Heyes. The week was filled with peaceful and creative energy. Participants had the option to stay in beautiful en-suite accommodation offered by the center and enjoy woodland walks, as well as social time in the World Peace Cafe between sessions.

Drawing the face of the Buddha

Open to everybody, from complete beginners to those returning annually for these art courses, the event included a day-long drawing workshop followed by a thangka painting course. The first day focused on how to draw Buddha's face using traditional methods and structures, providing insights into the symbolism behind the image.

Thangka painting course

Subsequently, participants spent five days painting Buddha's face, and some dived into thangka painting, honing their skills to create a beautiful depiction of Buddha. These courses not only allow participants to develop their artistic abilities but also contribute to increased peace of mind and concentration. Attendees found the process meditative and gained valuable insights from Kadam Chris.
