KMC Austria opens its doors to a new building

Last weekend the time had finally come: Kadampa Meditation Centre Austria opened its new
Commercial Space in the heart of Vienna after two years of renovation work. The Austrian capital
now has one of the most beautiful and modern meditation centres in the world.

A place of peace in the middle of Vienna

The new centre is located in the 4th district of Vienna and is very close to the famous Vienna Naschmarkt.

Thanks to the NKT-IKBU International Temples Fund and the support of many helpers, this beautiful centre has now been opened after two years of renovation. With an area of almost 400 m2, it can accommodate more than 120 people for events. The programme is also available via online stream.

Small but festive opening due to pandemic

Despite the current pandemic, the new Kadampa Meditation Centre in Vienna was opened on the last weekend of September under the necessary local security conditions. Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Palden opened the new premises with an inspiring talk on Friday 25 September in front of almost 50 people.

"This centre is arisen from the wish to benefit the people of this city, region, country spiritually. This is the purpose of this centre. The purpose of this centre is to help people develop and maintain a peaceful mind"
said Gen Kelsang Palden.
