a temple built from kindness

Just a few weeks now until the precious Temple at IKRC Grand Canyon is officially opened and the 2019 Fall Festival begins.

As the construction of the Temple enters its completion stage and the center and grounds are being prepared for the Festival, we are reminded of the great kindness of all those who are bringing this amazing place into being.

Supreme kindness
Supreme of all is the immeasurable kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, from whose heart the Temple and the Festival have arisen.

And then there is the great kindness of the Kadampa builders and artists who have worked ceaselessly to fulfil Venerable Geshe-la's vision - and all the contractors who have played such crucial roles at each stage of construction.

We remember also the Teachers, managers, and community of IKRC who are the custodians of this special place, constantly focused on its development and upkeep.

Kind volunteers
And now, we see teams of volunteers helping with the massive task of converting the place into a Festival site.

As you will see in the video, beneath a dramatic sky with a time lapse of the Milky Way above the Temple, teams of volunteers visited this weekend to help.

A team came from KMC Arizona in Tucson to help with mulching, weeding, planting trees,  landscaping, placing plant pots around the grounds and deep cleaning the kitchen.

Meanwhile, volunteers from Canada, Australia, UK, NY & New Mexico were helping with preparing the brackets for the auspicious signs, modernising the locks on the hotel doors, fixing the roof and painting the pump house.

A big thank you to everyone for your help.
