It is almost a year since the new urban temple in Oslo was opened by Gen-la Dekyong the General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU.

Nordic Kadampa Meditation Centre is the principal Kadampa center for the Nordic region. Located in the heart of Oslo at Majorstuveien 26, it offers meditation courses, retreats and social events open to everyone.

The venue was acquired by NKT-IKBU and converted by an inspired team of Kadampa volunteers, including some great craftsmen, from all over the world. With a distinctive Nordic design it has a light, open and spacious feel that is both relaxing and refreshing.

The Temple itself is sublime – a beautiful, blessed space where people can find true tranquility in the heart of the city. It is adjoined by a smaller meditation room that can also be opened up to extend the capacity of the main Temple

From the street, passers by can see the social space, bookstore and reception. Everyone is welcome to drop in for a tea or coffee and a chat.

A real place of refuge

The center recently welcomed Gen Kelsang Dragpa as their new Resident Teacher and National Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU for the Nordic Region.

Nordic KMC is a real place of refuge for the people of Oslo and the Nordic region – a perfect manifestation of Venerable Geshe-la’s special intention to bring pure Kadam Dharma to people where they live and work.
