Filled with inspiration & learning

How Dharma Practice can Enrich Your Daily Life

The past few days have been filled with inspiration, learning, and meaningful practice at KMC Mexico(opens in new tab). From deepening our Vajrayogini practice during our Post–Summer Festival Retreat to exploring practical tools for calming the mind and overcoming stress and anxiety, we’ve had wonderful opportunities to put Dharma teachings into practice and discover how they can enrich our daily lives.

Post-Festival Retreat

Deepening Your Vajrayogini Practice

With great joy, we have concluded our 2026 Post–Summer Festival Retreat, a precious opportunity to continue deepening our understanding of the teachings received during the International Summer Festival at our Mother Center, Manjushri KMC(opens in new tab), in the UK.

During these days, our practice focused especially on Vajrayogini, following the teachings of our Spiritual Guide, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. Guided by Gen Demo, we were able to explore more deeply the meaning and importance of this practice, combining explanations, meditations, and practice sessions.

The retreat centered on the sadhana The Blissful Path, the practice of Vajrayogini that enables us to become familiar with the profound instructions of Tantra and to cultivate an increasingly close and meaningful experience of these teachings.

Beyond simply understanding these instructions, the retreat gave us an opportunity to bring them into our own experience: to contemplate their meaning, meditate on them, and strengthen our determination to integrate Dharma into our daily lives.

It was a wonderful few days of practice, contemplation, meditation, and time spent together with our Sangha, filled with inspiration and meaning. We leave with renewed confidence in the spiritual path and a wish to continue deepening our understanding of the teachings of our Spiritual Guide.

How to Calm Your Mind

Last Monday, August 17, we were delighted to welcome Gen Demo for the talk “How to Calm Your Mind: Tools for Overcoming Stress and Anxiety.” With around 280 people in the meditation room and 40 joining online, we had the opportunity to learn about and contemplate practical tools for reducing stress and anxiety in our daily lives.

We learned that it is healthier to cultivate virtuous desires and make an effort to fulfill them, rather than creating unnecessary inner tension by demanding that external circumstances happen exactly as we want them to.

We also explored two key ways of working with anxiety: learning to accept uncertainty and reducing our attachment to external circumstances. When we stop constantly struggling against what is happening, we find more space and peace of mind.

Gen Demo guided us with great clarity, kindness, and practicality, helping us recognize our patterns of thought and showing us that, in order to transform our mind, we first need to learn to observe it. Meditation on the breath is a simple tool with which to begin: when our mind is calm and peaceful, we have greater clarity and a greater capacity to transform it.  We enjoyed the talk and, above all, we’re inspired to put what we learned into practice

We are deeply grateful to Gen Demo for joining us and sharing her teachings with such clarity, wisdom, and warmth. Thank you for your visit, Gen Demo! You are always welcome at KMC Mexico.
