A weekend to slow down — Sydney, Australia
At Chowder Bay in Sydney, the community of KMC Sydney spent a few days by the sea, stepping out of the usual routine and into a quieter, more peaceful space.
The teachings on Finding Strength in Kindness from Resident Teacher Gen Lhachog were practical and meaningful, the weather was beautiful, and it was wonderful to share the experience with such a reflective and like-minded group of people.
A gentle reminder of what’s possible when we give the mind time to settle.
On Sunday 15th March, Compassion KMC held a retreat on St Mary’s Island at Whitley Bay with Gen Norden called How to Purify Your Karma.
It was a full house with 48 of us there learning about the four powers of purification. We enjoyed home cooked and home baked food, made and served by our many volunteers.
The seals, dolphins and cormorants kept us company on the island as we contemplated how we can remove the negativity from our own beauty spot: our mind.
The community of Mahamudra KBC enjoyed a wonderful meditation retreat guided by Resident Teacher, Kelsang Sheyang. Following Venerable Geshe-la's teachings, she encouraged us to cultivate the habit of meditation and thereby increase our concentration.
We had the opportunity to meditate, share with the spiritual community, and meet new friends in a beautiful location in the Uruguayan countryside.
Thank you Venerable Geshe-la, for giving us a spiritual path and for dedicating your life to the flourishing of Kadam Dharma.
