Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Everyone, even non-Buddhists, can receive benefit from Kadam Lamrim, it is the supreme medicine that can permanently cure all the sufferings of sickness, ageing, death and rebirth; it is the scientific method to improve our human nature and qualities, and to solve our daily problems. Kadam Lamrim is the great mirror of Dharma in which we can see the way things really are; and through which we can see what we should know, what we should abandon, what we should practise and what we should attain.

This week we had the great joy of holding a wonderful Lamrim retreat at KMC Madrid La Sierra, guided by our Teacher, Gen Kelsang Dargyey. Over several days, in an atmosphere of peaceful calm, we deepened our understanding of the stages of the spiritual path through clear teachings, guided meditations, and time for reflective practice.
It was a precious opportunity to strengthen our understanding of Lamrim, cultivate a peaceful mind, and receive blessings that support our daily practice. We are grateful to everyone who participated and shared this valuable experience of study, meditation, and spiritual growth.
During the opening session, Gen Samten explained that real inner change comes not only from understanding Dharma intellectually, but from developing heartfelt determinations through our Lamrim meditations. Throughout the first week of our Winter Retreats, participants focused on memorizing and contemplating the determinations of Lamrim, allowing Buddha’s words to move from the mind to the heart and become a source of lasting transformation.
As we now begin the second week of retreat, the focus turns to Lojong, or mind training, offering further opportunities to deepen our practice and bring these precious teachings into daily life.
We enjoyed a Lamrim retreat at Nagarjuna KMC, Thornby Hall, with Gen Chonyi from KMC Exeter. Deep gratitude to Gen Chonyi for guiding our Lamrim retreat—supporting us in gaining familiarity with each stage of the path and inspiring a steady, successful meditation practice for the year ahead. She followed the meditations from The Mirror of Dharma with Additions.
What a wonderful start to this year with Tantra (The Uncommon Yoga of Inconceivability) with Kadam Bridget Heyes followed by Sutra (Lamrim) with Gen Chonyi.
As Day 5 of our Path to Happiness retreat begins, we joyfully transition into the profound meditations of the great scope. Open to everyone, regardless of experience, this retreat has offered a welcoming space to engage deeply with Buddha’s teachings, even for those joining individual sessions during the week.
This weekend also marked a beautiful and auspicious transition—from the conclusion of a blessed week-long Lamrim retreat into the profound practices of Highest Yoga Tantra. On Vajrayogini Day, we engaged in the inspiring practices of Dakini Yoga, concluding with an Offering to the Spiritual Guide tsog puja. With deep gratitude to Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for his immeasurable kindness in making these extraordinary practices so accessible, and heartfelt thanks to our Resident Teacher, Gen Sherab, for his skilful guidance and care. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a meaningful and joyful experience.
From profound retreats and practical teachings to joyful family gatherings, these inspiring events from around the world show how Kadam Dharma helps people cultivate inner peace, wisdom, compassion, and lasting happiness.
